Autonomous PSA Prototype Car Travels from Paris to Bordeaux

One of PSA Peugeot Citroën’s four autonomous vehicles recently made the trip between Paris and Bordeaux, France, in autonomous mode, on its way to the Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) World Congress, which is slated for Oct. 5 to 9.

The car autonomously adjusted its speed and changed lanes during the drive, according to a news release, all while taking other vehicles, infrastructure and speed limits into account.

“The journey made by our prototype today proves that autonomous vehicles are no longer a matter of science fiction,” said Carlos Tavares, Chairman of the Managing Board of PSA Peugeot Citroën. “This ushers in a new era for mobility, which I find truly exciting.”
