Inside Unmanned Systems, the trusted source for news, analysis, and insight on autonomous and unmanned technologies, has been named a finalist in two categories at the 2025 Jesse H. Neal Awards, the most prestigious honors in business-to-business journalism.

The publication was selected as a finalist for Best Single Issue of a Magazine and Best Subject-Related Package, recognizing its editorial leadership and unmatched coverage of autonomy and robotics. Both honors stem from the acclaimed special edition: “Future Force: Engineering AI-Enabled Autonomy – The Impact of Autonomous Systems.”
This standout issue delivered in-depth reporting on the convergence of AI and autonomy, exploring next-generation systems across air, land, sea, and space. The issue’s content—developed in collaboration with leading voices across defense, research, and commercial technology—was chosen from among hundreds of entries submitted to the 71st annual awards.
“This is a proud moment not only for our editorial team, but for the entire unmanned systems community we serve,” said Richard Fischer, Publisher of Inside Unmanned Systems. “Being named a finalist in two categories reflects our commitment to telling the stories that matter—stories that inform innovation, inspire industry leadership, and advance the adoption of autonomous systems around the world.”
This recognition builds on Inside Unmanned Systems’ ongoing legacy at the Jesse H. Neal Awards. The magazine previously won a Neal Award in 2022 and has been honored as a multi-year finalist for its coverage of autonomy in defense, infrastructure, logistics, and beyond.
Inside Unmanned Systems is part of the Autonomous Media publishing group. The portfolio also includes Inside GNSS, which was likewise recognized as a 2025 Neal Award finalist—underscoring the high editorial standards maintained across the Autonomous Media brand family.
