Airware unveiled its subscription-based Aerial Information Platform (AIP), an operating system for commercial drones that combines hardware, software, and cloud services.
The three primary components of AIP include: Flight Core (on-aircraft hardware and software enabling autonomous flight); Ground Control Station Software (aircraft flight planning, control, and monitoring); and Configuration Manager (configures third-party hardware and software with aircraft of choice). Airware plans to release Airware Cloud, a suite of cloud features later this year.
The company says the Airware AIP operating system enables the integration of a wide variety of third-party sensors, cameras, software apps, and data analysis tools with multi-rotor or fixed wing aircraft.
