February 11, 2016 – Gladiator Technologies announced today achieving the manufacturing and delivery milestone of more than 225 LandMarkTM IMU’s produced in support of the Schiebel CAMCOPTER®. The LandMarkTM IMU is utilized in the backup flight control system of the premier VTOL UAV.

Highly versatile and reliable, Schiebel’s Unmanned Air Vehicle – the CAMCOPTER® S-100 – provides a unique balance of advanced capabilities, operational flexibility and outstanding performance.

With its capability for autonomous flight and a fully redundant flight control system, the award
winning CAMCOPTER® S-100 can fly a programmed mission without operator intervention. It is a Vertical Takeoff and Landing (VTOL) system, eliminating the need for runways or launch and recovery systems. Whether for use at sea or on land, it has been engineered to aviation standards ensuring reliability on all mission types.

CEO Mark Chamberlain, commented, “Working with the great team at Schiebel for the past several years has been a real pleasure for us. It is an honor to be a supplier to Schiebel and their world-class UAV platform and we look forward to continuing to improve our products as Schiebel extends the performance and integrates new capabilities into the CAMCOPTER®.”

Gladiator Technologies designs and manufactures a broad product portfolio of high performance MEMS inertial sensors and systems. The LandMarkTM product family features various IMU’s ranging from the very low cost and small 1” cube LandMarkTM 01 IMU, the mid-performance LandMarkTM 20 & 30 IMU’s and the high performance and very low noise LandMarkTM 40 & 50 IMU’s. Rugged durability is a hallmark of all LandMarkTM IMU’s, which offer proven performance demonstrated in numerous of
applications. All of Gladiator Technologies’ inertial systems include full temperature range modelling
compensation for both bias and scale factor as well as for g-sensitivity and axis alignment. Other key features include: 200Hz bandwidth sensors, RS422/RS485 serial data outputs a common messaging protocol with form, fit and function interchangeability between specific models. The all new and highest performing LandMarkTM 70 IMU is form, fit and function interchangeable with our popular LandMarkTM 50 IMU, yet features lower noise gyros and accelerometers, much higher 10kHz internal sampling and up to 2500Hz data rate output as well as CANBUS output in addition to the standard RS422/RS485. All of our standard inertial systems are commercial NON-ITAR export categorized.

Gladiator Technologies, a Division of LKD Aerospace, uses state-of-the-art design tools to design high performance inertial MEMS sensors and systems. Our manufacturing, test and calibration processes include: fully automated environmental and temperature testing and proprietary calibration methods for environmental performance optimization. Gladiator’s comprehensive ERP system combined with lean manufacturing and six sigma techniques has enabled high volume production at low cost and high quality. Our quality system is certified to AS9100C (ISO9001:2008).

About the CAMCOPTER® S-100:

Schiebel’s CAMCOPTER® S-100 Unmanned Air System (UAS) is a proven capability for military and civilian applications. The Vertical Takeoff and Landing (VTOL) UAS needs no prepared area or supporting launch or recovery equipment. It operates in day and night, under adverse weather conditions, with a beyond line-of-sight capability out to 200 km, both on land and at sea. The S-100 navigates via pre-programmed GPS waypoints or is operated with a pilot control unit. Missions are planned and controlled via a simple point- and-click graphical user interface. High definition payload imagery is transmitted to the control station in real time. Using “fly-by-wire” technology controlled by a triple-redundant flight computer, the UAV can complete its mission automatically. Its carbon fiber and titanium fuselage provides capacity for a wide range of payload/endurance combinations up to a service ceiling of 18,000 ft. In its standard configuration, the CAMCOPTER® S-100 carries a 75 lbs/34 kg payload up to 10 hours and is powered with AVGas or heavy fuel.
