PrecisionHawk and Agri-Trend recently formed a partnership that will give farmers in the U.S. and Canada access to PrecisionHawk’s Drone Platform, Sensors and Data Mapping tools, offering them what the companies describe as the first full service drone and data solution for farmers.

Through Agri-Trend’s SkyScout Program, the partnership will offer UAV service throughout regions of Canada using trained individuals, according to a news release. The goal is to roll out a full commercialization service model in 2016 that includes a full integration of orders, delivery and processing from a range of UAV platforms.

“Scaling comes from things being seamless and simple. It is our belief that to reach true field level value, these products need to be captured and delivered cost effectively through automated processes, on-board UAV intelligence, and by many different individuals, including both Coaches and Farmers,” said Rob Saik, Agri-Trend Founder and CEO, according to the release. “We see PrecisionHawk as the clear leader in this rapidly evolving space, and together we believe we can bring unmanned remote sensing products to the millions of acres owned by Agri-Trend clients.”

In the first phase, PrecisionHawk’s DataMapper will be integrated into the Agri-Data Solution Platform, according to the release. This integration is designed to allow farmers to aggregate and analyze data coming from multiple sources, enabling them to make better decisions quickly and efficiently.

Agri-Trend will offer PrecisionHawk’s UAV platform, suite of sensors and Data Software and DataMapper to its corporate partners, consultants and Coaches as part of the partnership, according to the release.

“The partnership includes a number of important firsts around the intersection of agriculture and drone technology,” PrecisionHawk CEO Christopher Dean said, according to the release. “As the first large-scale, agricultural drone program roll-out in North America, aerial data will be seamlessly captured by PrecisionHawk systems and transformed into meaningful data products inside the Agri-Data system for application by the end grower.”
