The New Ellipse Series Sensors from SBG Systems Replace the IG-500 Series and Offer More Accuracy, Advanced Filtering Features

SBG Systems’ new Ellipse Series Sensors are designed to provide high accuracy measurements when mounted on an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, as well as when mounted on a boat or a car.

This new series of miniature inertial systems replace the IG-500 Series, featuring a new design, new sensors, new capabilities and new algorithms, according to a news release. The series also offers advanced filtering and more accurate measurements, for the same cost as the IG-500 series.

“We have selected state-of-the-art MEMS sensors, especially very low noise gyroscopes that greatly enhance Ellipse performance. We integrated cutting-edge GNSS receiver while keeping a small size,” said Alexis Guinamard, CTO of SBG Systems, according to the release.

The flexible Ellipse sensors weigh from 45 grams. The Ellipse-A model provides 3D orientation and heave, while you can connect a GPS with Ellipse-E for navigation or use the internal via the Ellipse-N model. The larger Ellipse-D integrates a survey-grade L1/L2 GNSS receiver with two antennas for optimal heading and position accuracy.
