DroneShield has been awarded a contract valued at $24.9 million AUD supporting the mission of Joint Interagency Task Force 401 (JIATF-401), the company announced June 2.

The contract carries an initial value of $19.3 million AUD, with an additional $5.6 million AUD in options over a five-year period.
The award covers the supply of mobile and fixed-site counter-drone solutions, comprising hardware, subscriptions, warranties and services. DroneShield said its hardware is available from existing planned production, with deliveries scheduled across 2026 and 2027. The contract also requires DroneShield to purchase and install third-party interoperable solutions alongside its own products. At least $10 million AUD is anticipated as committed revenue for FY2026, with the balance recognized in FY2027.
JIATF-401 synchronizes counter-UAS efforts across the Joint Force, helping allies and partners rapidly acquire counter-drone capability against evolving aerial threats.
“This contract demonstrates the growing requirement for counter-drone capabilities across complex operational environments,” DroneShield CEO Angus Bean said. “Customers are increasingly seeking solutions that combine rapid deployment with persistent airspace security, and DroneShield is well positioned to support these requirements through its range of mobile and fixed-site systems.”
DroneShield US President Ray Fitzgerald called the award “another important milestone in DroneShield’s growth within the United States” and said it “demonstrates continued confidence in our ability to deliver operationally relevant counter-drone capabilities at scale.”
