Joint Interagency Task Force 401 awarded two separate contracts to DroneShield on June 2, adding roughly $33 million in new C-UAS business to the task force’s expanding procurement portfolio less than two weeks after its $500 million Perennial Autonomy IDIQ announcement at SOF Week.

The first contract, valued at $13.8 million, will deliver counter-UAS detection and mitigation capabilities to Joint Task Force-Southern Border in support of the Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Customs and Border Protection. DroneShield will serve as lead systems integrator for an array of technologies provided by Echodyne, Silentium, and Sentrycs, with capabilities delivered in phases over nine months to operational locations across Laredo, Texas and the Rio Grande Valley.
The second award is a broader JIATF-401 IDIQ task order with an initial value of $19.3 million and an additional $5.6 million in options over a five-year period, covering mobile and fixed-site C-UAS systems including hardware, subscriptions, warranties and services. The contract also requires DroneShield to purchase and install third-party interoperable solutions alongside its own products. The award falls within the JIATF-401 IDIQ framework carrying a ceiling value exceeding $500 million for counter-drone capabilities.
“Our single measure of effectiveness is rapidly providing our warfighters and security personnel with effective counter-UAS capabilities,” said Brig. Gen. Matt Ross, director of JIATF-401. “This investment ensures that JTF-SB personnel are equipped with the capabilities they need to secure our southern border and defend the homeland.”
