Ogden, Utah is preparing to host the 2nd annual Utah UAS Summit—featuring keynote speaker Michael Huerta, former Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) administrator—on Sept. 27, 2019.
The Summit will run from 8 am to 6 pm at the Kemp Ogden Gateway Center, Ogden Hinckley Airport. Registration to this event is free, but attendees who would like a catered lunch, should select the optional $15 ticket purchase.
Michael Huerta is a former administrator for the FAA. In this capacity, he oversaw the largest aerospace system in the world, directed a $15.9 billion budget, and managed more than 47,000 employees. He currently works as a senior adviser for Macquarie Capital and serves on the Board of Directors for Delta Airlines. Huerta is considered a thought leader in the UAS industry, having overseen the development of Part 107 regulations during his tenure at the FAA.
Additional speakers include: Gary Stewardson, ROAVCopters; Tulinda Larsen, Deseret UAS; Michael Dyment, NEXA Capital; Tooele County Commissioner Shawn Milne; Jared Esselman, director, Division of Aeronautics, UDOT; and Paul Wheeler, head UAS Programs, UDOT.
The Utah UAS Summit will also include live demonstrations.
